How did this new album and overall concept for it come about, and what are your ultimate goals with it? My album came about because it was time..... after many years of playing on so many other artists CDs I needed to do one for myself. My goals are for the world to here this music. What do you find to be the most challenging aspect of recording a new album? I believe that you need to be original and not follow any common threads . Sound and perform like yourself and not be someone your not...be original. Of your touring and gigs so far in your career, do any stand out as being particularly memorable or defining moments? Performing for Billy Joel we broke a Madison Square Garden record by selling out 12 nights in a row. On one of those concerts it was my Moms 80th birthday. During my performance of "New York State of Mind" I went center stage and played my solo for her...it was like there was no one else there, just my mom and I. She took that to heaven...forever it will be a memorable moment. What are you most proud of at this point in your life and career? I am most proud of that I have never done anything else but make music and supported myself and family. I am also proud of the support I got from my family for without it I could have not gone this far. What’s your favorite non-music activity? People that know me know that I love sports...specially baseball. I am Bernie William's musical director so I get my fill of music and baseball all in one..and LOVE it What’s your absolute favorite part of the World, and why? My favorite part in the world is where I live on Long Island NY. I am 30 minutes from one of the greatest cities in the world and still have all the privacy I need .. I love the change of seasons for it makes for a great creative setting...by far my favorite part of the world for many reasons. |
