Who would you say has been the single biggest influence in your life in getting you to where you are now in your career?

I would say my parents. My father (James Posey) is a musician and was a big influence because he encourage me and supported me from the beginning. Also I have to to say Grammy Award Winner Coolio (also Coolio's manager) for taking me around the world for over ten plus years playing my sax along side him in some of the biggest venues.

What’s your favorite non-music activity?

I love to snowboard, golf, and workout at the gym.

At what point in your life did you make the decision to become a professional musician and actually record your own albums?

When I saw a video of Miles Davis Live in Paris back in 1994 I know then that's what I wanted to do.

What do you see as the biggest challenges to the growth of Smooth Jazz in the future?

I would say appealing to a younger audience and supporting more new and younger smooth jazz artist.

Outside of your musical career, what else in your life gets you excited and fulfilled?

I love to cook and actually I have a online cooking show with Grammy Award Winner Coolio (also Coolio's manager) called "Cookin With Coolio". Check it out here :

Going back in your life as far as you can remember, what song or performance is the first you recall hearing and being affected by?

Michael Jackson song "Thriller" and when Michael Jackson first did the moonwalk.
