How did this new album and overall concept for it come about, and what are your ultimate goals with it?
I wanted to offer a fresh, instrumental twist on several familiar Firefall songs and use this recording to make the transition into the contemporary jazz genre.
Of your touring and gigs so far in your career, do any stand out as being particularly memorable or defining moments?
In the early days of Firefall, we were one of the first popular music acts to perform at Carnegie Hall and shared the stage with Roy Buchanan. It was about 1977 or 1978, I forget the exact date.
How would you finish this sentence? "I don’t like to go a day without_________?"
I don't like to go a day without giving thanks for everything. I think it's important to stay humble.
What’s your absolute favorite part of the World, and why?
I built a cabin up in the Georgia mountains and love to spend time there. It's very quiet and peaceful there.
If you were magically allowed to spend an hour with whomever you chose in history… alive or dead… and really be able to get inside their head, who would that be?
I'm a pretty spiritual person, so I'd like to spend a little time with Buddha.
What’s your favorite charity or cause you work for, and why?
I'm happy to help any charity or cause involved with animal rights or protection.
