SmoothJazz.com was created when visionary radio pioneer Sandy Shore had seen enough big box corporate takeover in the broadcasting industry to know that Independent Inernet Radio was the future of Music Delivery.
After a 20 year career in AM/FM Radio, including stints at The WAVE in Los Angeles and KKSF in San Francisco, she endured the loss of Monterey Smooth Jazz radio station KXDC for the 4th and final time when she sought to make Smooth Jazz a premanent fixture on the Internet.
In the year 2000, Internet radio was invented and SmoothJazz.com Global Radio made it's debut as the first ever jazz radio station on-line and one of the very first broadcasting outlets on the Web which remains free of charge to our listeners to this day. Streaming nearly 8 millions listener hours every month, Smooth Jazz remains the most popular music format on the Internet today thanks to the support of friends all over the world!
