CHIELI MINUCCI & SPECIAL EFX I am thoroughly enjoying the brand new Chieli Minucci & Special EFX double-disc, 25 Year Anniversary project WITHOUT YOU and I recommend it to you highly. Firstly, Special EFX is one of the seminal musical groups in Contemporary “Smooth” Jazz! Amazingly, it’s been 25 plus years of solid touring, that’s significant in and of itself and worthy of a look back. Secondly, the music on these two discs is mind-blowing… truly dynamic and adventurous; a tribute to Chieli’s talents and vision. Thirdly, WITHOUT YOU includes a bonus 32-page booklet describing each track on the collection… on what I consider to be an engrossing autobiographical account of the band’s history with pictures, from it’s founding ‘til today, plus enlightening insights into this business of music that we either participate in or follow as admirers.
