Having released ten multi-faceted singles over the past year showcasing his infectious composing, artful improvisation and scintillating piano playing, Japan’s Smooth Jazz hero Rei Narita makes the experience even more joyful with his thought provoking themes and titles. His latest is an inspiring piece called “Zephyr,” referring to the winds of change guiding us into a new way of life for the times we're living in, known as the "air era." The sweeping piano here is dreamy and graceful, and this new single includes a gently hypnotic, glissando passage in the middle, perhaps a nod to change. The title literally means “gentle breeze” or “west wind,” and while Narita’s musical journey is often upbeat, jazzy and grooving, "Zephyr" smoothly propels our thoughts forward towards a fresh new perspective.
