Fun fact about prolific German composer/keyboardist Michael Amandus Quast: Before his family forced him to set music aside to pursue an education and career in science, he spent a year in South Dakota as an exchange student, where he won a Jack Reynolds Jazz Award for a chart he wrote for the Harrisburg High School Big Band. Everyone can get into the groove on his melodically compelling single “Pool Bar,” but Smooth Jazz fans in cold climates will especially appreciate the pulse quickening invitation he and powerhouse German guitarist Uli Broderson extend to join them for a fast thumping, danceable good time by the pool!
