With influences ranging from 80’s pop and R&B hitmakers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis and Nick Martinelli to international jazz-funk fusion greats Shakatak and Mezzoforte, veteran Norwegian keyboardist, composer and producer Frank Hestness – aka Franko Spero – has created fascinating vibes that have evolved from high-energy chill to the tight, in the pocket, more robust piano and hypnotic synth driven funk/soul he stirs up on his third collection, IT’S TIME. Though he’s never released a full-length album, Spero has graced Smooth Jazz with hip thematic concepts in EPs for his shorter collections, introducing himself to the genre with SIGNING IN and then taking his artistry ONE STEP AHEAD. Likewise, every track on this robustly performed, improvisation-filled new set features titles with phrases related to time.
