Voted Houston’s Best Male Jazz Performer in 2023, versatile drummer Pat Williams is a local legend who has been a bandleader (The Pat Williams Group) as well as a mentor in his hometown for 30 years. He has laid the groundwork for his 2020s emergence in Smooth Jazz by performing with everyone from the late Joe Sample, Bob James and Marion Meadows to Eric Darius, Bobby Lyle and Regina Belle. Completing something of a clever, times of the day cycle, the multi-talented performer follows his recent single “Afternoon Walk” with “Late Nights, Early Mornings,” a breezy, in the pocket, soul-jazz groove featuring Williams’ infectious drumming and showcasing Kerry Wilkins’ crisp, melodic electric guitar. The new track is the current single for the drummer’s upcoming album INCLUSIVE, VOL II.
