Complementing a stylistically varied career playing blues, R&B, Reggae, Latin, Tejano and country music, veteran San Antonio saxophonist Billy Ray Sheppard began making waves in Smooth Jazz back in 2017 with SILK, his high-powered debut album featuring collaborations with Steve Oliver, and again in 2021 with the Greg Manning-produced single “It’s The Weekend.” Sheppard, host of his own annual Smooth Jazz cruise, keeps the all-star collabs hopping with his latest shimmering single “Moscato Moon,” working with producer/guitarist Adam Hawley to create a festive, tight-pocket grooving romp with horn playing as sweet and bubbly as the popular dessert wine it’s named for.
