Back when Peter White was a sideman for Al Stewart and Basia, he could never have imagined becoming one of most influential, core artists for Smooth Jazz. Yet 35 years into his solo career, with the release of his perfectly titled 17th album LIGHT OF DAY, the masterfully melodic acoustic guitarist joyfully proclaims that he has “as much enthusiasm for music now as I did in my twenties!” And it shows! Bringing much needed bursts of hope and sunshine to an anxious new year, White weaves an uber-infectious, sonically intricate mix of his snappy, fast-paced adventures and lush romantic ballads – including a heartfelt song dedicated to his late colleague Nick Colionne – with special guests contemporary jazz icon, trumpeter Rick Braun, sax star Vincent Ingala, flugelhornist Ilya Serov as well as legendary saxophonist Ernie Watts, gracing a White project for the first time.
