There’s been no stopping drummer/producer James ‘PJ’ Spraggins since his banner year of 2023, when he achieved a lifelong dream playing behind Peabo Bryson on the Soul Train Cruise and dropping STICK IT OUT, his fourth album and first in eight years. Full of exciting sonic shifts and surprises with each new release, he follows the piano driven “Metamorphosis” with the hypnotically percussive, dream-funk vibin’ invitation to “Move to the Groove.” It’s a full- on silky seduction featuring the lush lead and textured harmony vocals of Cedric Draper and Jordan Love’s crisp, fluid and highly improvisational electric guitar lines.
