You recorded your newest album, CONTEMPLATION, in your California Wine Country studio. How was that an inspiring environment for you?
I am very much inspired by nature and the outdoors. Being surrounded by the natural beauty of Sonoma County helps me to tap into my spiritual and creative voice.
You play live in San Francisco regularly with your trio, can you tell us a little bit about the Bay Area music scene and the audiences?
Being part of the diverse and eclectic San Francisco music scene has been a great experience for me. It is quite a melting pot of different styles and cultures. The most profound influence has been my exposure to World and Roots Music from places such as Africa, Brazil, Tibet, India as well as the SF Funk, Blues and Jamband Scene. The audiences are very responsive and enthusiastic!
Your music was featured in the independent film "Loving Alfie" -- How did that come about for you?
My good friend and talented Actor/Filmaker, Al Kaiser approached me about doing the music for his film about a Cassanova Cab Driver and his interesting SF escapades! How could I resist such a project?
How do you describe your music style to people?
Melodic and guitar oriented Smooth Jazz with groove and fusion overtones.
How do you see your music complimenting the Smooth Jazz genre?
I believe that the Smooth Jazz genre is quite diverse, with room for new and emerging artists. I am hoping that my music can add some fresh sounds that people will enjoy.
What do you like to do for fun when you're not working?
I love to get on one of my bicycles and explore fun backcountry trails or the beautiful little country roads of Sonoma Wine Country.
