You play bass and keys on your great new release, "Before Dawn."
Unless you’re an artist, athlete, or someone who’s been touched by passion, it may be difficult to understand. But to me, the Bass is the instrument that stands out in any musical piece. But whenever I’d listen to music, it wasn’t the Clarinet pulling on my heart strings, it was the Bass guitar. So I like to think the Bass chose me, not the other way around.
Which style or styles of jazz do you feel you are the most connected
As an artist, I try to stay in touch with all styles of music. I’m most connected to jazz and any other style of music that explores the complex art of “improvisation”.
So far in your career, what would you say is the most significant
That’s hard to categorize. Music is a journey. Each milestone in the journey brings about a significant sense of achievement. What's new and exciting in your musical career right now?
I’m currently writing music for my next CD. Some new musicians will be working on the project to give it a slightly new flavor.
