How did this new album and overall concept for it come about and what are your ultimate goals with it ?

This cd is a love letter to my wife, as a musician this is the best gift I could offer her.

What do you find to be the most challenging aspect of recording a new album?

As a bass player your main job is that of a side man so it can be tuff to find time to get your own project off the ground but well worth it and I would have it no other way.

How would you describe what inspires you to do what you do?

Just the love of music, I was blessed to know what I wanted to do with my life at a young age. I have never had a gig that I did not learn something new about myself good or bad.

What artists do you feel akin to or in the same tribe with?

So many great artist really inspire me if I had to pick a few Jaco would be at the top of the list followed by Brad Taylor and Jerry Tubb.

What elements do you look for in a song that makes it especially satisfying for you to perform?

The first thing I hear is a grooving bass line than the chord changes. Than I begin to hear the tune in my head and my own take on the tune.

Of your touring and gigs so far in your career, do any stand out as being particularly memorable or defining moment?

I have been blessed to have had some really great gigs. I think my first pro gig is the one I will remember the most. It was a band called Blaze and I was in over my head with some great players but after the gig they pulled me aside and said "guy you were born to do this".
