Who would you say has been the single biggest influence in your life in getting you to where you are now in your career?

God has blessed me with a set of unbelievable parents. They have always encouraged and supported me to pursue music from a young age. I can remember my first bass my father surprised on a Christmas day. I had to be the happiest kid on the on the block! As loud as I practice every day for hours they never once complained.

How did this new album and overall concept for it come about, and what are your ultimate goals with it?

Flying Solo is a break out album for my journey in music as a solo artist. I have produced and written for other artists for some time now and I feel now is the time for me to come from behind the scene, I have something I want to share with the world. I canít sing although you might hear my voice occasionally on a song but the bass is my voice. At the end of the day the goal is that this is the first of many albums to come not just because I want to make music but because people want to hear what I have to offer.

What artists do you feel akin to or in the same tribe with?

I think Iím not in tribe with no one at this point I am brand new to this. I hope that one day I am in tribe with the greats i.e. Larry Graham, Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten and Wayman Tisdale to name a few. These icons each brought greatness and uniqueness to the table and I would be honored to have achieved that.

Of your touring and gigs so far in your career, do any stand out as being particularly memorable or defining moments?

I remember one tour that I was on with my band Caribbean Pulse. We were in San Jose doing a show for the Wave at the time. When we pulled up to the outside venue for sound check there were only a handful of people in pockets that were checking things out. I didnít know what to expect as far the audience. Figured it would be a nice show to say the least.

We got to the hotel and waited a few hours until show time. When we arrived back at the venue there were at least 15,000 people in attendance and I said to myself OMG. It altered my reality because all the hard work that was put forth seemed to have paid off. That many people came out to support and see us was simply amazing.

When the times arise for you give back for the success and abundance you enjoy, what kinds of opportunities do you look for?

I honestly cannot wait for the time to come! Itís my mission in life to help others. Definitely would love to set up a center specifically for troubled youth gearing them for success despite their circumstances. Donating not only money but also my time to charity here at home and third world countries because itís such a great need.

Whatís your favorite non-music activity?

I would have to say spending time with my loved ones just chillin, eating and relaxing. Catching up on movies via Red Box and making it a whole day of it with my wife. To me thatís the best. And donít even let me get started on a bowl of cereal!
