Sandy Shore - President & Founder

FaceBookSP

Sandy Shore : President/Founder

Sandy’s is the silky voice you hear on Smoothjazz.com Radio. The Internet media outlet is her vision and was created out of frustration while going in and out of employment with ‘terrestrial’ radio. The popular radio celebrity has been heard up and down the California Coast during the 80’s and through the 90’s working for nearly a dozen radio stations including the prestigious Smooth Jazz outlets, KTWV The Wave in Los Angeles and KKSF in San Francisco.

Sandy takes a hands-on approach with Smoothjazz.com, answering hundreds of fan email personally from listeners all over the world. In addition to working intimately with the music and programming of Smoothjazz.com Radio, Sandy also works closely with artists and labels to promote new and undiscovered music.

Sandy loves living on the Monterey Peninsula in Northern California and steals days whenever possible to enjoy the natural beauty of the area; from sun drenched Santa Cruz to tranquil Big Sur. According to Sandy, “To live in the Monterey Bay area is to live life fully ”.  Sandy is currently in production creating the first Girl's Music Internet Station: GoGirl.net to debut in 2007 and just finished launching a sister station to SmoothJazz.com called SmoothLounge.com : For the Chill of It.

Donna’s the girl with the big box of Crayolas… And she knows how to use them. Armed with a degree from the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale, the one time leader of a Santa Cruz all girl alt-rock group, has shaped and molded Smoothjazz.com into one of the most visually pleasing on-line radio stations on the Net.

In addition to producing just about every bit of art and design that you see on Smoothjazz.com, Donna’s daily duties include managing the Company, strategizing new development for site + station functionality and working closely with a team of technical consultants.

Being an explorer at her core with the philosophy "no horizon too distant" tattooed into a nautical map on her left arm, she has paddled an Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe with her women's crew in long distance races 22 miles across the Monterey Bay, 27 miles across the Catalina Channel, 18 miles along the Kona Coast and 45 miles from Molokai to Oahu. She is most alive when exploring back country roads on her 500cc Aprilia Italian Scooter or cruising the open sea to exotic locations, which she has been doing since she was a wee water child growing up in Miami as a child of a Cruise Ship Lines Food & Beverage pioneer.

SmoothJazz.com : the back story...

Studio CDsStudio MicStudio ArtStudio

The world’s #1 on-line jazz destination is broadcasting on the Internet from the Monterey Peninsula in Northern California. Smoothjazz.com HQ is a 19th Century Victorian-era Cottage, well over 100 years old and is located near downtown Pacific Grove just a few hundred yards from the Monterey Bay.

The Monterey Peninsula is well known for many things including world-class golf (Pebble Beach), robust, boutique wineries (Carmel Valley), the Monterey Bay Aquarium (Cannery Row) and most certainly Monterey has earned a solid reputation as a jazz town with the world’s oldest and possibly most well known jazz festival; the 50-year-old Monterey Jazz Festival.

Radio personality and concert promoter, Sandy Shore, founded Smoothjazz.com in 1995. Originally, the on-line destination was used as a ticket outlet for Sandy Shore Productions’ locally produced concert events. However, by the late 1990’s the Website had been transformed into a global presence for Smooth Jazz offering exciting information for both artists and fans alike. By the turn of the century, Smoothjazz.com Radio began broadcasting in digital stereo through the services of Shoutcast.com. Around the same time, the Smoothjazz.com Top 50 Chart publication debuted, designed for music industry professionals and participated in by nearly 70 reporting radio stations. The Chart is published weekly some fifty times a year displaying the current most played Smooth Jazz albums in the U.S. and abroad. We also publish the SmoothIndieStar.com Top 50 Chart as well as the SmoothJazz.com Radar Chart to help new projects get an indication of how their album is doing right out of the gate.

Defining Smooth Jazz for a world of listeners through the art of seamlessly fusing elements of jazz, r&b, pop, and world rhythms, Smoothjazz.com Radio streams a deep mix of music for a global audience. The station currently broadcasts an average of
7.5 million listener hours per month, while the site enjoys nearly 300,000 unique visitors on a monthly basis.
